Custom Bedding

The Focus of Every Bedroom

At Ida & Norman’s Draperies, we know that your bed is the focus of your bedroom. Your bedding should pull visitors’ attention while also complementing your interiors, setting the stage for tasteful accents like rugs, tapestries, and furniture. Big box stores can’t achieve the detail that goes into our custom bedding - our luxurious bedding is made in the fabrics you want and in your own design, making them guaranteed to complement your interiors. Bedding is more than matching set from a store - it includes comforters, duvets, bed sheets, shams, bed skirts, throw pillows, bedcovers, quilts, coverlets, and more. Our custom bedding and linens are made in house with excellent craftmanship, and we work with you to create a truly one-of-a-kind bedding set carefully curated to just your style.

What to Consider When You Chose Custom Bedding:

COLOR

Avoid a boring bedroom by utilizing contrasting colors. If you have a monochromatic bed, make sure the color contrasts with your walls, like an all-white set against a café au lait wall. Keep in mind the 60:30:10 rule: a dominant, neutral hue should be layered with a bolder secondary color and finally an eye-popping accent. Trending color scheme ideas include purple, yellow, and green; white, rose, and gold; and aqua, navy, and coral.

DESIGN

For more visual interest, choose a patterned bedspread. With floral, stripes, gingham, jacquard patterns, and more, there are limitless design options from casual to classy so that you can create your room’s desired ambience.

FABRIC

Use a light to medium weight fabric if your bedding set includes a quilt; heavier fabrics may be used alone. For your bed to be comfortable, your fabric choice is of utmost importance. Choose between textured and untextured fabrics, like gauzy cotton or a classic stitch microfiber or soft and smooth fabrics like linen and silk. Our fabric brands include industry stars like Fabricut, Carole, Trend, RM Coco, and Robert Allen.

PILLOWS

Pillows ultimately finish the look of your bed and complete your room’s design, but don’t over-do them. While ten, twelve, fifteen pillows might look luxurious, removing and arranging them will become a chore. Less is more: keep it simple with five or six and make them stand out.

LAYERS

Besides comfort, layers on the bed also make it look full. To layer your bed, start with the fitted sheet, then the top sheet - placed upside down, so the design shows when folded over. The rest goes to making your bed look luxuriously comfortable: Use two duvets, or stuff two inserts into a single duvet, for extra fullness; and cover by loosely draping a coverlet at the bed’s middle. To complete the look, square euro pillows give your bed height, and standard and accent pillows give depth. For a finishing touch, fold a throw blanket or quilt at the end of the bed.
